Share and Embed Outreach Forms
Once an Outreach Form has been published, DonorDock provides several ways to share it with supporters. You can send people directly to the form using its web link, create a QR code for print or in-person use, or embed the form directly into your organization’s website.
The "Sharing" section becomes available after the Outreach Form is published. Draft forms are not available for public sharing.
Access the Sharing Options
Navigate to "Forms" in DonorDock.
Open the "Outreach" section.
Select the Outreach Form you want to share.
Confirm that the form has been published.
Open the "Sharing" section on the left side of the form settings.
From here, you can access the form’s direct link, QR code, and website embed codes.
Share the Direct Form Link
Each published Outreach Form has its own web link that can be shared directly with supporters.
Copy the form link from the "Sharing" section and use it anywhere you want someone to be able to open and complete the form. For example, you might include the link in:
An email or newsletter
A text message
A social media post
A website button
An event registration page
A digital flyer or other communication
When someone opens the link, they are taken directly to the published Outreach Form.
Updates made to the form do not create a new URL. If you later change the headline, message, fields, styling, Badges, Marketing Lists, or other settings, the existing link will continue opening the updated version of the form after those changes are saved.
Download and Share the QR Code
DonorDock also generates a QR code for each published Outreach Form. Scanning the QR code with a phone or other supported device opens the form directly.
Open the form’s "Sharing" section.
Locate the QR code option.
Download the QR code image.
Add the image to the materials where you want supporters to access the form.
QR codes can be especially useful for printed materials or situations where asking someone to type a web address would be inconvenient. You might include one on an event program, poster, table sign, brochure, direct mail piece, or other printed communication.
The QR code points to the same published form URL, so you do not need to download a new QR code when you make normal updates to the form.
Embed an Outreach Form on Your Website
Outreach Forms can also be embedded directly into your organization’s website. This allows supporters to complete the form as part of your own webpage rather than first opening a separate DonorDock link.
The "Sharing" section provides two embed options:
Embed Option | How It Works |
|---|---|
"Script Embed Code" | Uses JavaScript to load the Outreach Form into the area of your webpage where the code is placed. This is generally the preferred option when your website platform allows custom scripts. |
"Iframe Embed Code" | Displays the Outreach Form inside a framed area of your webpage. This can be useful for website platforms that do not allow custom JavaScript but do support iframe or embed blocks. |
The best option depends on your organization's website platform and the types of custom code it allows.
Use the Script Embed Code
The "Script Embed Code" loads the Outreach Form directly into the location where the script is placed on your webpage.
Open the Outreach Form in DonorDock.
Expand the "Sharing" section.
Copy the "Script Embed Code".
Open the page where you want the form to appear in your website editor.
Add a custom HTML, JavaScript, or code block supported by your website platform.
Paste the DonorDock Script Embed Code into that area.
Save or publish the webpage.
Open the live page and confirm that the form displays correctly.
Some website builders restrict the use of custom JavaScript. If your platform does not allow the Script Embed Code, use the Iframe option instead.
Use the Iframe Embed Code
The "Iframe Embed Code" displays the published Outreach Form within a framed section of your webpage.
Open the Outreach Form in DonorDock.
Expand the "Sharing" section.
Copy the "Iframe Embed Code".
Open the page where you want the form to appear in your website editor.
Add an iframe, embed, or custom HTML block supported by your website platform.
Paste the DonorDock Iframe Embed Code into that area.
Save or publish the webpage.
Review the live page to make sure the full form is visible.
Depending on your website platform and page layout, the iframe may need width or height adjustments so supporters can comfortably view and complete the form.
Test the Embedded Form
After embedding an Outreach Form, review the live webpage before broadly sharing it.
Test the page on both desktop and mobile devices and confirm that:
The entire form is visible.
Fields are easy to read and complete.
The submit button is accessible.
The form fits appropriately within the webpage.
The success message appears after submission.
The page does not require unnecessary horizontal scrolling.
Any Marketing List options appear as expected.
It is also helpful to complete a test submission and review the resulting Form Response in DonorDock to confirm that the embedded form is working as expected.
Update an Embedded Form
The embed code remains connected to the published Outreach Form in DonorDock. Normal changes to the form do not require you to replace the code on your website.
For example, you can update:
The Form Headline or Message
Standard Contact fields
Custom Fields
Field order
Button text or styling
Badges
Marketing Lists
The Success Message
After the changes are saved in DonorDock, the embedded form will use the updated configuration.
The same applies to the direct link and QR code. You can continue using the links, QR codes, and embed codes you have already distributed rather than replacing them each time the form is edited.
Review Form Responses
Regardless of whether someone accesses the Outreach Form through a direct link, QR code, or website embed, their submission is recorded the same way in DonorDock.
Navigate to "Forms".
Open the "Outreach" section.
Locate the Outreach Form.
Select "View Responses" to the right of the form name.
DonorDock will open a report containing the responses submitted through that form. Individual responses can also be reviewed from the associated Contact record.
