Common Gift Report Filters

You can filter Gift Reports using a wide range of gift and related record information.

Common filters include:

  • Gift Date

  • Gift Amount

  • Gift Type

  • Gift Status

  • Payment Type

  • Campaign

  • Appeal

  • Fund

  • Giving Page

  • Gift Tags

  • Pledge information

  • Tribute information

  • Contact information

  • Donor Stage

  • Badges

  • Processing information

  • Date ranges

You can combine filters to narrow the report to the specific gift records you need.

For example, you could create a report for:

  • Credit Card gifts received during a specific month

  • Gifts associated with a particular Campaign

  • Gifts received through a specific Giving Page

  • Grant gifts received during the current fiscal year

  • Gifts with a specific Gift Tag

  • In-Kind gifts

  • Tribute gifts

  • Gifts associated with a particular Fund

All four gift designation fields are available for reporting.

Gift Amount Fields in Reports

Gift Reports can include several different amount fields.

Report Field

Amount / Received Amount

The total amount contributed by the donor.

Fee Amount

The payment processing fee associated with the gift.

Net Amount

The amount remaining after Fee Amount is deducted from the Received Amount.

Non-Deductible Amount

Tax-Deductible Amount

The Received Amount minus the Non-Deductible Amount.

Soft Credit Amount

Customize Report Columns

After running a Gift Report, you can customize which fields appear.

  1. Open the Columns menu.

  2. Search for the fields you want to add.

  3. Check or uncheck fields to control which columns appear.

  4. Click outside of the columns box to return to the report

Group Report Results

You can also group report results to make related records easier to review.

To group a report, drag the column heading you want to group by into the grouping area at the top of the report.

For example, you may group a Gift Report by:

  • Display Name

  • Campaign

  • Appeal

  • Fund

  • Giving Page

  • Payment Type

Grouping by Display Name can help when comparing multiple Campaigns or Appeals because it lets you see the gifts associated with each donor together.

Filter Individual Report Columns

After you run a Gift Report, you can apply filters directly to individual columns to further narrow the results.

Column filters are useful when you need to refine the data beyond the filters used when initially creating the report. For example, you might run a report for all gifts received this year and then filter the Amount column to show only gifts greater than $1,000.

You can apply up to two filter conditions to an individual column.

To filter a report column:
  1. Run the Report and wait for the report to finish loading.

  2. Locate the column you want to filter.

  3. Click the Filter icon (a funnel) on the column heading.

  4. Select the filter condition you want to use.

  5. Enter the applicable value.

  6. Add a second filter condition if needed.

  7. Click Filter.

The report will update to display only records that meet the selected column filter.

Available Column Filters

The filter options available may vary depending on the type of information stored in the column. Text, date, number, and True/False fields each have filters designed for that data type.

💡 Column filters are applied after the report is run. You can combine the main Report Filters with individual column filters to narrow your results even further.

For example, you might create a Gift Report for a specific Campaign and date range, then filter the Amount column to Is Greater Than or Equal To $1,000 to identify major gifts within that Campaign.
