Email Setup and Management

Before sending marketing emails through DonorDock, a few settings and account details determine who your emails can be sent from, how email providers identify your organization, and how many Outreach Emails you can send.

Setting Who Emails Are Sent From

Emails sent through DonorDock must use an email address associated with a DonorDock team member. For emails sent from a specific staff member, you can select that person's DonorDock user as the Send From team member.

If your organization prefers to send from a shared address such as info@yourorg.org or development@yourorg.org, an Administrator can create a Non-Interactive team member for that address.

Non-Interactive users can send email but cannot log in to DonorDock and do not count toward your organization's user limit.

Authenticate Your Email Domain

Selecting a Send From team member determines who the email represents, while domain authentication verifies that DonorDock is authorized to send email on behalf of your organization's domain.

Without domain authentication, emails sent through DonorDock will appear to come from noreply@donordock.com.

Authenticating your domain can help:

  • Verify your organization as a legitimate sender

  • Improve email deliverability

  • Reduce the likelihood of emails being flagged as suspicious or spam

  • Protect your organization's sending reputation

  • Allow DonorDock to send using your authenticated organizational domain

Domain authentication is completed by adding CNAME records provided by DonorDock to your organization's DNS settings.

Understand Your Outreach Email Credits

DonorDock subscriptions include a monthly number of Outreach Emails for marketing communication. At any time in your DonorDock account, you can view how your organization is currently using your emails.

Purchase Additional Outreach Emails

If your organization needs more marketing emails than are included with your subscription, you can purchase additional email capacity from the DonorDock Billing page.

Monthly emails are used first. Purchased Additional Emails are stored separately and roll over month to month until used.

Only team members with the Administrator role can access Billing and purchase additional emails.
